- Assists with lifting and transferring patients from beds to transporting devices.
- Observes patients condition during transport and protects the patient from injury by utilizing proper restraining equipment.
- Cleans and maintains equipment and recommends repair. Also may be required to deliver equipment for repair.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Performs a variety of clerical tasks as necessary.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- No previous experience necessary.
- Extensive contact with patients, patients’ families, nursing staff, hospital staff and physicians.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills required.
- Must be able to recognize a problem with a patient being transported and seek assistance when necessary.
- Ability to prioritize patient flow.
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
